The Academy of Human Development has a list of training courses that are are significantly subsidised (up to 70%) by SkillsFuture Singapore and are recommended for Social Service professionals or individuals/volunteers who work with families, couples, or social programmes.
Up to 70% Subsidy, SkillsFuture Credit-Eligible
Singapore Citizens and PRs are eligible to receive 70% SSG subsidy for all listed courses. SkillsFuture Credits can also be used to offset fees.

Practical Counselling (Basic) [1]
This programme aims to equip those with no counselling background with a better understanding of counselling, help them develop greater self-awareness, and enhance their personal qualities as effective people-helpers in the workplace as well as in the community.
Microskills for Effective Para-Counselling [2]
This course is a continuation to the Basic counselling courses for learners who want to expand their skill set in helping people. The practical counselling skills and strategies taught in this course aim to increase learners’ confidence in promoting growth to help people overcome life challenges.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Practice [3]
This course provides participants with the fundamentals of solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) practices, which is an approach in counselling, psychotherapy, social work, clinical supervision, coaching, education,
and management. SFBT approaches help clients to generate solutions and is client-centred, strength-based, goal-focused, contextual, and usually brief.
Strengthen Family Relationships and Personal Growth using the SATIR Model
In this workshop, participants will learn to apply Satir's concepts and the Personal Iceberg Metaphor to foster personal growth, refine communication skills, and strengthen interpersonal relationships within the family.
Managing Challenging Behaviours of Seniors
This course will teach you how to identify and understand the root causes as well as key issues of the seniors’ challenging behaviours, learn useful and easy-to-remember techniques and strategies to manage different behaviours, minimise re-occurrences, and how to properly follow up with effective care for the seniors.
