Strengthen Family Relationships using the Satir Model

This course will teach learners how to use the basic knowledge and skills of the Satir approach to better communicate and connect with family members. Learners will thus be able to use the Satir Model to enhance interactions and improve family relationships in their professional and personal lives.

This introduction course equips people-helpers with basic knowledge and skills in managing
conflictual couple during a session and
stabilising their marital relationships. They will also learn helpful skills to de-escalate marital
conflicts and promote the repair of marital bonds.

Managing Challenging Behaviours of Seniors

This course will teach you how to identify and understand the root causes as well as key issues of the seniors’ challenging behaviours, learn useful and easy-to-remember techniques and strategies to manage different behaviours, minimise re-occurrences, and how to properly follow up with effective care for the seniors.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Practice

This course provides participants with the fundamentals of solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) practices, which is an approach in counselling, psychotherapy, social work, clinical supervision, coaching, education,
and management. SFBT approaches help clients to generate solutions and is client-centred, strength-based, goal-focused, contextual, and usually brief.

Application of Mixed Methods Research in Social Service

Mixed methods research is used to explore social issues and allow social service practitioners to understand them more holistically. This course teaches how mixed methods research can be used in a variety of ways, including evidence
syntheses, needs assessments, pre-programme/service problem assessment and post-programme/service evaluation.

Programme Theory of Change and Logic Model

The course will equip learners with the knowledge and skills to create a theory of change for social programmes and present a theory of change as a logic model. The theory of change will in turn enable learners to plan, implement, monitor, evaluate, and communicate the programme more effectively.

Engaging Victims of Intimate Partner Violence

Learners need to have at least 1.5-2 years of social work/counselling experience

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) refers to physical violence, sexual violence, stalking, psychological aggression, and control of reproductive or sexual health by a current or former intimate partner.

This course aims to equip counsellors/social workers with the knowledge about the dynamics of IPV and skills competency on how to engage and empower the victims to bring about changes.
